Approach

As social beings, our most intimate relationships—those with partners, family members, loved ones, and ourselves—have an immense impact on us, our wellbeing, and our daily functioning. When those relationships are good, we feel good, and when they feel off, we feel off, too.

As such, I am a relationship-oriented therapist who strives to work collaboratively with my clients to help them develop relationships that are affirming, fulfilling, and supportive. I provide therapy to couples, individuals, and adult families (e.g., adult children & their parents; siblings) that is client-centered, emotionally focused, and grounded in a commitment to social justice. With all my clients, I leverage my 10+ years providing therapy, training couple and family therapy graduate students, and teaching about relationships at the University level to help them engage in the meaningful yet often challenging work of enhancing self-understanding and improving relationship functioning.

Though I address a broad range of individual and relational concerns in my practice, I have extensive experience working with all types of couples, lesbian, gay, trans, and queer identities and relationships, racial minorities, non-monogamous couples, couples experiencing infidelity, and interfaith and/or interracial couples.
